Tired of being the family IT guy?

If you have even a smidgen of technical expertise in your blood, chances are good that at least one aunt/family hippie/aged parent has come to you seeking computer support.  “Have you tried rebooting it?”  “Press the power button…. wait, what do you mean you don’t know which one is the power button?”  Well there’s good news for you (meaning somewhat bad news for people like me)!  Google has introduced “Teach Parents Tech”, they don’t even need to know how to go to a web page, as you can go and fill out a small form and it will email the info (links to brief video tutorials) directly to them.  I suppose this means that they will at least need to know how to check their email… which means they’d need to know how to turn it on, log in, etc.  Well there’s only so much you can do, right?

Anyhow, save yourself a few minor headaches and help them to help themselves!
